As an avid meditator, few experiences bring me as much peace and inspiration as being in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. This past month, I had the privilege of attending a Gurudev event alongside the remarkable Peter Cooper and Suparna Bhasin. Witnessing their profound commitment to spiritual growth and well-being, I left the event feeling more grounded and inspired than ever.
Peter, known as much for his success as an investor as for his deep, reflective journey, credits Suparna for introducing him to meditation and the transformative practices of The Art of Living. Together, they’ve embraced a life centered around mindfulness and service, devoting their mornings to meditation, yoga, and the powerful Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique. Their story reminds me of the profound shift that comes from committing to a practice of inner peace, especially as they lead initiatives like the MaiTri Foundation to support mental health and spread values of loving-kindness.
There’s something so powerful about Gurudev’s teachings that draws over a million visitors each year to the Art of Living Centre in Bangalore, a serene 65-acre haven of peace and knowledge. Peter described Gurudev’s work as finding the “sweet spot” where spirituality, philosophy, and secular life intersect—a harmony that resonates deeply for anyone striving to balance personal growth with worldly commitments.
Leaving the event, I felt even more committed to my own meditation journey, reminded that true freedom and fulfillment start from within.
Grateful for the chance to share this experience with Peter and Suparna, and even more excited to explore how meditation can continue to bring clarity, resilience, and joy into everyday life.
If you ever have a chance to attend a Gurudev event or explore The Art of Living, I highly recommend it. There’s nothing quite like it! 🌱
